TechSoup Canada is the Canadian partner of the TechSoup Global Technology Donations Program. TechSoup Canada is funded by the Ontario Trillium Fundation and is a collaborative effort by the Centre for Social Innovation, TechSoup Global and the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC).
As part of their commitment to the voluntary sector, organizations such as Microsoft, Symantec, Adobe and Cisco are partnering with the award-winning technology capactiy building nonprofit Techsoup Global to administer their Technology Donations Program on a global level.
The program assists your organisation by making donated software available for a very low administrative fee, thereby helping you to make the most of your ICT purchases and infrastructure. Receiving technology product donations frees up stretched organizational budgets for both technology priorities and other programme areas. Software and other technology products can be more than just mere acquisitions; our website helps you to make the most of your ICT purchases and infrastructure by providing resources and advice on technology planning, ICT tips and tricks, and other technology assistance you may require.
The TechSoup program has been running for over five years in the United States, and has distributed over $250 million worth of software to nearly 50 000 nonprofit organisations. TechSoup expanded to Canada in 2004, and the United Kingdom, Belgium and Poland in 2006. In the first two months after launch in these three countries, the programme distributed over US$1 million in software donations.
TechSoup Canada and TechSoup Global are also planning to expand the programme to include donations from other leading corporate technology donors. We are also in discussions with local ICT service providers to include local offerings such as web hosting and connectivity, IT training, and hardware discounts and donations. Open source solutions as well as discounted services and support will also become part of our offering.
