Mission-Based Management is one of eight nonprofit management courses in the Learning Institute Certificate series. Participants learn about assessing the organization's financial status and developing strategies to improve financial performance that are in line with the organization's values.
A certificate is not part of the TechSoup offer; it is available through the Learning Institute program of the Society for Nonprofit Organizations (SNPO). Participants can earn 0.6 of a continuing education unit (CEU) for each course from Michigan State University by paying an additional fee to the Learning Institute and submitting completed assignments for evaluation. Successful completion of CEU assignments for the entire series entitles them to the Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from SNPO and Michigan State University.
The Mission-Based Management course covers how to:
- get more out of existing resources by using standard business techniques
- identify ways to implement the business practices of successful nonprofit organizations
- manage staff in ways that are effective for today’s environment
The course presents standard nonprofit concepts, vocabulary, and strategies through a video presentation. A downloadable participant guide reinforces the presentation and contains worksheets and an Organizational Assessment Tool to assist with post-training implementation. The course takes from six to nine hours to complete.
Important: Before enrolling, test the computer's ability to play the video presentation by clicking the Video Presentation (5 minutes) link at: http://www.nonprofitcourses.org/li/preview.php.
Registering with the Learning Institute: When your request has been approved, an email will be sent to your organization's email address containing a coupon code and enrollment instructions.
Students can activate courses at any time, but once a course is activated, it must be completed within 30 days. The course is available online at all times during those 30 days.
Choose Carefully: The administrative fee for this online product is not refundable.
