Each fiscal year, 1 July – 30 June, eligible organizations may request up to 3 single-user licenses or 1 3-user license.
Please note that a 3-user license counts as three separate licenses.
QuickBooks Premier 2011 helps organizations manage essential financial tasks like paying bills, creating invoices, generate donation receipts, producing reports, and tracking expenses, contributions, and payments.
QuickBooks Premier 2011 allows the installer to select from a general business version or five industry-specific versions of QuickBooks Premier 2010: Nonprofit Edition, Contractor Edition, Manufacturing & Wholesale Edition, Professional Services Edition, and Retail Edition.
Each version includes the features of QuickBooks Premier 2011, plus modifications specifically designed to meet the finance and accounting needs of a particular industry. For example, the Nonprofit Edition provides custom features that nonprofit organizations need for grant tracking, budget creation, financial reporting.
This product includes one user license. QuickBooks Premier 2011 allows a maximum of five simultaneous users to work with the organization's data, but all users must have separately licensed installations of the same edition and version of QuickBooks.
Here are some notable features of this product:
- Allows invoices and statements to be sent directly through email with enhanced email integration. (Note: additional software is needed to use this feature. See System Requirements.)
- Creates budgets based on actual fundraising and expense data in QuickBooks and compares actual income and expenses to budgeted amounts.
- Provides business planning and analysis tools, such as the Statement of Financial Income & Expense, to help evaluate the organization's business, improve financial management, and plan for the future.
- Organizes business information such as tax, general company, donor, vendor, and employee information in separate centers while allowing an accountant to simultaneously work on the system.
- Payroll Management
- Process Credit Card & Debit card Payments in QuickBooks.

Downloading the QuickBooks Installation File: When your donation request has been approved, an email will be sent to your organization email address containing a license key and download instructions.
Intuit estimates download times will be about 45 minutes for cable modem and double that for DSL. Download time can be affected by factors such as Internet traffic at the time of download and local LAN configuration and congestion. The total download size is about 470 MB.
All support for this product, including online access, will be discontinued approximately three years from the product's original release date.
This product includes one user license. Each organization may request up to three user licenses in a fiscal year through TechSoup Canada (3 single user licenses or one 3-user license). QuickBooks Premier 2011 allows a maximum of five simultaneous users to work with the organization's data, but each user must have a separate license.
Recommended System Configuration
QuickBooks Premier on 32-bit or 64-bit edition of Microsoft® Windows XP / Vista / Windows 7
- Processor: At least 2.0 GHz processor.
- Memory: At least 512 MB of RAM; 1 GB recommended.
- Hard Disk: 1 GB of disk space for QuickBooks installation. Additional space required for data files.
Disk Space Requirements for Additional Software
- 50 MB for Microsoft® .NET 2.0 Runtime, provided on the QuickBooks CD.
- Google Desktop Search space requirements are determined by the size of the company file and the nature of usage. It is not unusual for indices to be as large as 1 GB.

File Server Requirements
Novell Netware server on Linux/Samba file servers can be used with advanced configuration. Performance will be impacted on networks running less than 100 Mbps.
Integration/Compatibility Requirements
QuickBooks is able to integrate with 100s of third-party applications (visit the US-based QuickBooks Marketplace to learn more), in addition to the following standard integrations provided with QuickBooks. Note: Additional RAM will enhance the use of these features.
- Preparing letters requires Microsoft Word 2000, 2002, 2003 or 2007.
- Exporting reports requires Microsoft Excel 2000, 2002, 2003 or 2007.
- Contact synchronization with Microsoft Outlook requires Outlook 2000, 2002, 2003 or 2007. Synchronization with Microsoft Outlook requires QuickBooks Contact Syn for Outlook (download it free by clicking here)
- Business Planner functionality requires Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or later.
- Payroll and other online features and services require Internet access with at least a 56 Kbps connection speed. We recommend DSL or a cable modem.
