The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) has partnered with TechSoup Canada on an integrated campaign to help Canadian nonprofits, charities and libraries learn about how they can take ownership of their online identity and build their brand by harnessing the power of domain names and the web.
Who is the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA)?
We’re the Canadian Internet Registration Authority – but you can call us CIRA. We’re the folks who manage the .CA domain name registry on behalf of all Canadians. We’re a not-for-profit, member driven organization that develops and implements policies that support Canada’s Internet community. We represent the .CA registry internationally, and through the .CA Community Investment Program, give back by funding innovative community projects and research to build a stronger, safer, and more accessible Internet for all Canadians.
Through this partnership with TechSoup Canada, our goal is to help enable nonprofits to leverage the web by breaking down the barriers to getting online and building a strong, trusted brand. And choosing the right domain name is an essential step to get there.
That’s where we can help. As Canada’s official registry for the .CA domain, we have over 15 years of experience in guiding small businesses, entrepreneurs and charities alike in choosing their domain name and building a successful brand online. We will help you understand the world of domain names and how you can utilize your domain name in a variety of ways to reach your online goals.
Over the next several months we will be contributing blog posts to TechSoup Canada on a regular basis that will discuss building your online brand and identity, with a focus on domain name selection, online branding, search engine optimization, and how to get the most out of your domain name. We’ve also been invited by TechSoup Canada to speak at a national webinar on developing and owning your brand online, which will be provided at no-cost to attendees. Keep your eyes peeled for the invite!
Finally, we will be delivering in-person community forums across the country hosted by NetSquared organizers, where we will give you the inside scoop on how to choose the right domain name and brand yourself online. We’ll tackle the tough questions about choosing a domain name, getting your website up running, hosting email on your domain, and more. Find out why the .CA domain name is right for your organization and how every .CA domain name contributes to building a better online Canada.
We are very excited about this partnership with TechSoup Canada. CIRA’s deep expertise in domain names and online branding coupled with TechSoup Canada’s strong relationships and community of tech-minded nonprofits will allow us to help nonprofits and charities across Canada succeed online.
